Take a multiple vitamin with folic acid for at least three months before you get pregnant to help reduce the risk of serious birth defects. Eat the right foods, your baby eats what you eat. Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How will I pay for my care?
A: MCPHC can assist you to apply for Medicaid for Pregnant Women (MPW) or the Baby Love Program. Even if you have never been eligible for medical assistance before, you may find that you qualify.
Q: When am I due?
A: This depends on when the first day of your last menstrual period was. The RN who explains the results of your pregnancy test can help to determine the estimated date that your baby is due.
Q: How soon can I be seen?
A: After you have a positive pregnancy test you will be given an appointment to return for your blood work, history and certification for WIC. This is usually no more than a few days wait. The Doctor is here every week. Remember, the earlier you begin your prenatal care, the better chance you will have of having a healthy baby.
Q: Can I bring my Husband/Boyfriend/Mother with me to my visits?
A: Yes, we welcome family involvement and support and are glad to work with you to schedule your appointment so they can attend.
