Appeal Information To File An Appeal Appeals can be filed beginning January 1 of each year. Please download the Appeal Form. You may mail this form in to Macon County Tax office Property Tax Appeals, 5 West Main St., Franklin, NC 28734 or Email the completed form to Tommy Allen at tallen@maconnc.org. After you file your appeal, an appraiser will contact you with information on how to complete a successful appeal and when you will be scheduled for your appeal hearing with the Board of Equalization and Review meeting. You can choose to attend the meeting in person or you can mail your appeal documentation in and it will be presented to the Board at your scheduled hearing time. If you are a representative for a business or a taxpayer you will need to complete a Power of Attorney form and submit with the application.
