The Fire Marshal's Office is a division of the Macon County Emergency Services Office and oversees contracts with the eleven volunteer fire departments that provide protection to Macon County and provides for fire inspections in Macon County. Macon County does have a fire prevention ordinance enforceable by civil and criminal penalties. This division also serves as the Emergency Management agency for Macon County serving as the coordination point between emergency and non-emergency local, state, and federal assistance during times of disaster.
