Macon County Airport Authority
Minutes of the Regular Meeting Held May 29th, 2007

The Macon County Airport Authority held its regular meeting on May 29th, 2007
in its offices located at 1241 Airport Road, Franklin, North Carolina.  Chair
Gregory called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.  All members were present.
Also present were David Peeler, Gary Varga, Steve Walker, Mihir P. Shah, and
Eric Rhysdon from W.K. Dickson; Monty Beck, Legal Counsel for the Airport 
Authority; Evelyn Southard, Macon County Finance Director; Neal Hoppe and 
Peggy Milton, airport Fixed Base Operators, Teresa McDowell, Macon County;
and Tom Hagan.

MINUTES:  Upon motion by Member Corbin and seconded by Member Jenkins, the 
minutes of the regular meeting held April 24, 2007 were unanimously approved.

AGENDA ITEM #3:	DISCUSSION REGARDING W.K. DICKSON:  David Peeler and the 
above referenced staff members of W.K. Dickson, attended the meeting to explain
a personnel change, as well as introduce new staff members to the Airport 
Authority.  Chairman Gregory, for the record, expressed his disappointment that
Wayne Corley, the engineer who had worked closely with the Airport Authority
previously, was no longer on the WK Dickson staff.  Mr. Peeler stated that the
core group of W.K. Dickson is the same as in previous years, and that W.K. 
Dickson will continue to provide good service to the Airport Authority .
David Peeler stated that although W.K. Dickson is under contract for the 
mitigation and construction phases of the runway extension project, the Master
Contract between Macon County and W.K. Dickson is up for renewal.  Chairman 
Gregory expressed a concern, that at one time the billing and financial 
records with WK Dickson were in terrible shape, but he stated that there had
been an improvement recently.  Macon County Finance Director, Evelyn Southard,
expressed that previously the "records were a mess" but have improved greatly.
Chairman Gregory stated that he would have Legal Counsel, Monty Beck review
the contract.  Member Jenkins stated that Chairman Gregory is the point of 
contact for the Airport Authority and that he should receive any initial 
contact from W.K. Dickson.  Member Jenkins also expressed appreciation for
the staff of W.K. Dickson being present at the meeting and for keeping the 
lines of communication open with the Airport Authority. Member Corbin stated
that any information received by Chairman Gregory should be provided to the
rest of the Airport Authority.

AGENDA ITEM #4:  EXECUTIVE SESSION-CONTRACTUAL MATTERS:  Member Jenkins made a
motion that the Authority convene to executive session at 4:35 p.m. to consider
a contractual matter.  Member Haithcock seconded the motion and it passed by
unanimous consent.

After a discussion, member Jenkins made a motion that the Authority re-convene
in open session at 4:56 p.m.  Member Haithcock seconded the motion and it 
passed by unanimous consent.  Member Gregory announced that no action was taken
in executive session.

AGENDA ITEM #5: OTHER BUSINESS: Member Haithcock stated that he has provided 
the required listing of all aircraft based at the Macon County Airport to GCR &
Associates, on behalf of the FAA.

There being no further business, Member Jenkins made a motion to adjourn at 
5:00 p.m.  Member Haithcock seconded the motion and it passed by unanimous
consent.
