Macon County Airport Authority
Minutes of Regular Meeting Held March 27, 2007

The Macon County Airport Authority held its regular meeting on March 27, 2007
in its offices located at 1241 Airport Road, Franklin,  North Carolina.  
Chair Gregory called the meeting to order at 4:12 p.m.  Member Schmitt 
was absent.  All other members were present.  Also present were Neal 
Hoppe and Peggy Milton, the airport Fixed Base Operators, Dobe Roberts,
Landscaping Contractor, and Teresa McDowell, Macon County.

MINUTES:  Upon motion by Member Jenkins and seconded by Member Corbin, the
minutes of the regular meeting held February 27, 2007 were unanimously  
approved.

AGENDA ITEM #3:  DISCUSSION OF LANDSCAPING CONTRACT:  Dobe Roberts presented
a plan for landscaping, along with an estimate.  Member Haithcock suggested
that the Authority take two (2) more bids.  No action was necessary.

AGENDA ITEM #4:	OTHER BUSINESS:  Member Corbin made a motion that the Airport
Authority should pay the registration fee for Member Haithcock to join the 
NCAA.  Member Jenkins seconded the motion and it was unanimously approved.  
Member Haithcock will be attending the NCAA Conference scheduled for April 
18-20, 2007. Member Haithcock volunteered to be responsible for notifying 
maintenance when the perimeter security fence area needs attention regarding
spraying of weeds, mowing and removal of grass.	

AGENDA ITEM #5:  EXECUTIVE SESSION-CONTRACT MATTER:  Chair Gregory moved that
the Authority convene to executive session to consider a contract matter.  
Member Corbin seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 

After a discussion, Member Corbin made a motion that the Authority re-convene
in open session.  Member Jenkins seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Upon re-convening, Member Jenkins made a motion to hire the law firm of 
Coward, Hicks, and Siler to represent the Airport Authority in all legal 
matters, with said representation to terminate June 30, 2008.    
Member Corbin seconded the motion and it was passed by unanimous approval.

There being no further business, Chair Gregory adjourned the meeting.
